Traditional wedding music

Wraggle Taggle's most common format for a wedding ceilidh consists of four musicians plus a caller who will teach the dances from scratch - no experience needed!

A ceilidh is something really different and ideal for a successful party, as it is a fun way to get families, friends and colleagues to mix and meet and because all age groups become involved. The faster dances are an energetic work out, and the band also play in a more relaxed romantic mood.

We loved Wraggle Taggle at our wedding!

We loved Wraggle Taggle at our wedding! (27th August 2022 Saturday  Selwyn College, Grange Road, Cambridge, CB3 9DQ) Very easy to deal with, happy with last minute changes, a very fun and dry-witted caller - we had several people from Germany & Italy who had never tried a ceilidh before and had the best time. All in all, really lovely people and a great band! Anna Luise Wagner 5th October 2022

Fantastic Day

"Hi Mick Thank you both again for your talents on Sunday (25th November 2018 Sunday Hintlesham Hall Hotel, Hintlesham, Ipswich, Suffolk IP8 3NS). It was a fantastic day made even better by a little Irish influence. Everyone loved it! You’re both very talented and we will no doubt be booking you again at some point in the future, as well as recommending you to anyone that asks. From both Leanne and I...we can’t thank you enough. Kind regards" Bruce Hurton 28th November 2018

Wraggle Taggle are very experienced providing music for weddings and wedding receptions. Let us provide your favorite traditional songs for your ceremony and a cheerful accompaniment to your drinks reception or play during your wedding breakfast. We can even organise a piper to pipe your guests in.

Flexible & tailored to your requirements

Wraggle Taggle are flexible enough as regards personnel, instrumentation and musical style to be able to tailor a band to each client's specific requirements. The band go out as anything from a duo to a six-piece, amplified or acoustic, with or without a caller, anywhere in London or the South East.

What about our first dance?

There is a tradition that the happy couple start the dancing with a slow romantic dance. It is a photo opportunity that could result in a treasured memento and the band has some beautiful suitable pieces to play. Wraggle Taggle will call other couples up to join you reasonably soon.

Some couples ask for a favorite romantic track to be played via iPod or other device for their first dance. Other newlyweds do without the first dance and go straight in to the ceilidh. The band can start with a ceilidh dance featuring the two of you or one that doesn't do so. Nothing is so complicated that the band can't teach you on the night.

A Special send off

We can climax the evening leading a rendition of Auld Lang Syne, Robert Burns song of friendship and parting and for the happy couple  to pass through a traditional tunnel  of all your guests.
